nternationally-acclaimed Turkish artist Bedri Baykam will exhibit his
work for the first time in the United States on Thursday, September 3rd at
Alphonse Berber Gallery. The show is "A New Page: Painting the 4th
Dimension". You are invited to join us for the opening reception at 6:00
pm.
Bedri Baykam first rose to prominence in the 1960's as a child prodigy.
His work regularly appears in galleries and museums across the globe. In
addition to being an artist, he is a prolific writer, having authored over
20 books on politics and art, as well as being a columnist for the Turkish
leftist publication Cumhuriyet. In 2003, Baykam was a serious candidate
for the presidency of the main Turkish social democrat party, The
Republican party of the People (CHP). Featured successfully in March 2009
at Sotheby's premiere Contemporary Turkish Art Auction in London, Baykam's
large-scale lenticular 4-D works will be on view through October 17, 2009.
